Proper handling is the key to safety. Proper hygiene is essential when dealing with any raw protein, such as meat, poultry or fish, whether it is for a pet or a human. When handling any pet food, it is important to wash your hands and any work surfaces, bowls, or utensils that have come into contact with the raw meat. It is IMPORTANT to use lots of hot soapy water for this job. You should also avoid contact with your pet’s stool. If you do come into contact, always remember to thoroughly
wash your hands afterwards. You should also avoid letting your pets lick you immediately after they’ve eaten.
